"Check-in and check-out were super easy. The space itself is beautiful, bright, and thoughtfully designed. However, the kitchen items weren’t very clean when we arrived, so we ended up washing everything before using it. It would also be nice if an ice tray were available for drinks. Also, lots of tiny ants and even some in the sugar! The waterfall feature by the pool wasn’t working initially, but communication was great. The host were quick to respond when we messaged them. The upstairs area, especially near the stairs and bathroom, got quite warm and took some time to cool down. One of the king bedrooms had a bit of a sewage smell, so we left the door open to air it out, though the second bedroom with two beds didn’t have this issue. The shared amenities were excellent: ping pong, cornhole, a sauna/ice bath setup, and plenty of lounging space made it easy to relax. The property’s location is also a big plus, just a short walk to everything we needed. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at In the Shade Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The pool is lovely, warm and relaxing. We only had breakfast there one day but it was very tasty and fresh. The room was comfortable. Excellent location, just a short walk to the beach and many great restaurants, coffee shops and stores. I would recommend staying here."

"The whole place was spotless and staff were wonderful. Usually we stay close to the water but in tamarindo that means being in the noisier part of town. So we opted for this place and used their shuttle to go back and forth. Loved the tranquility, the views of the ocean and the visit from the group of monkeys right at eye level off the back deck. We will definitely be back! "
