"Great resort but it was huge! For our group, we often needed the golf cart to bring us to meals. Service was great and everyone was friendly. Shopping was available to items to bring home as well as items needed at the resort. We only had one bad experience with the restaurants and it was the food at Cauri, the tapas restaurant in the main lobby area. The waiter was great but the kitchen must have been struggling that night. We had a party of 8 and food was either undercooked or so overcooked you couldn't eat it. This was after waiting an hour at the table to get the first tapas. All of the other restaurants were amazing!"

"Very clean property. Breakfast buffet in the mornings included. Staff were very friendly and helpful. One pool did have a swim up bar that we did not utilize, but the pool was beautiful. (all pools were beautiful)"

"Ocho is an amazing place. We truly had the best time staying here. The staff goes ABOVE and BEYOND. From the pool to the bungalows it was so well decorated and such a cute place. The breakfast is amazing every morning, The beach is clean. I HIGHLY recommended. Giovanni, Elsa, Nancy, David, we can’t thank you guys enough for making our stay memorable. 5/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Nous avions une chambre avec «cuisine», mais les équipements fournis ne permettent pas vraiment de cuisiner: il y a peu de vaisselle, la cafetière et le grille pain ne donnaient pas envie de s’en servir… Également les photos donnent l’impression d’un établissement pratiquement neuf, alors que ce n’est pas le cas. Point positif: la piscine est un atout majeur pour se rafraîchir au retour de la plage!"

"This was a favorite property!!! Oceanfront, gorgeous pool and gardens around the property. I love their commitment to the environment and welcome the natural wildlife within the property. The staff is so friendly, always ensuring you are doing well and enjoying your time. The food at the restaurant is delicious, and you can enjoy your meal beachside if you wish. The bungalows are spacious with a beautiful outdoor shower. The beach is wonderful to swim, walk and surf. Thank you to all the staff we met and helped make our stay so memorable!"

"This was one of the most unique and memorable places we’ve ever stayed.The treehouse feels completely immersed in nature while still being comfortable and thoughtfully designed. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle, soft natural light coming through the windows, and seeing monkeys and parrots right outside was an experience we’ll never forget.The location was incredible — an easy walk to Playa Avellanas beach, restaurants, and local shops, but the property itself felt peaceful, private, and hidden away from everything.We loved the handcrafted details throughout the home. The carved artwork, tropical woodwork, and overall design made the space feel artistic, warm, and authentic to Costa Rica. It truly felt like staying somewhere special instead of a typical vacation rental.The beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great in the bedrooms, and the WiFi was strong enough for remote work and streaming without any issues.One of our favorite parts of the stay was relaxing in the hammocks after long beach walks and sunsets. The entire property has a calm energy that makes it easy to slow down and fully enjoy the experience.Ben was an outstanding host — extremely helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us great recommendations and made everything feel easy and welcoming from start to finish.If you’re looking for a peaceful, walkable, nature-filled stay in Playa Avellanas, this place is truly special. We would absolutely stay here again."
