Vancouver West Cozy Retreat by Host Launch

Vancouver West Cozy Retreat by Host Launch

8/10 Good
"This is a large, lovely old house. I had a HUGE bedroom that was probably one of the original reception rooms in the house. Access to the house was easy and as explained although I did have to lug my heavy luggage up several stairs to get to the front door. I appreciated having a downstairs bathroom opposite my room as I had occasion to use it several times during the night. There was mood lighting in the bedroom and a desktop lamp but I really needed a bedside lamp as the high ceilings meant that lighting for reading in bed was poor. For some reason I found myself unable to charge my cell phone overnight but this could have been a user error as I am not a very "techie" person. There was a welcome booklet from the owners and it suggested using Uber rather than taxis. However, I have never used Uber and there was no explanation as to how to use it so I booked myself a taxi. There was common access to a kitchen equipped with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, etc. and tea and coffee together with cups, saucers, cutlery, kettle and coffeepot were all provided. I made myself a cup of tea but then realised that the milk in the fridge probably belonged to one of the other patrons so drank it black. I briefly encountered two other people in passing during my stay but had no idea whether they were the owners or other patrons. One concern I had was that the large window in my bedroom faced the street. While the noise from passing traffic was minimal, there were only sheers on the window"

"Vrbo location is great! Easy walking distance to the train into Vancouver, airport, or Richmond night market and also plenty of coffee shops and bakeries nearby for the morning! The house does look like it’s being slowly remodeled with the guest rooms remaining, but they were very clean and comfy. Only reason for the 4 stars is because that wasn’t clear in the pictures.Would still rent again."
