"The Mermaid Inn is a special place. So much history around every corner. It's a really gorgeous setting, with period detail throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, and rapidly corrected an error made during check-out. Breakfast was delicious and you can tell they use high quality ingredients in everything. I was slightly disappointed in the room: it was pretty stifling despite the weather being merely warm; the four poster bed was much smaller than a modern double and had a cobweb hanging from one corner; and the weird red polyester throws/curtains and cushions with plastic crystals jarred with the intricate carvings and beans around us. But all in all a good experience and we enjoyed our stay. "

"Lovely property .. great location in heart of Rye. We stayed in a cosy room .. it was fab, beautiful decor and great facilities. Great breakfast nice bar. Staff were great but in particular a great duo on reception ( didn’t get names) but a blonde lady so accommodating allowing us to leave bags before checking in, so we could explore Rye and an Australian male that impressed us in returning a missed phone call before arriving and ensuring we had a pleasant stay.
