"On arrival, the gentleman on reception was exceptional. Very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean with a great view of the York Minster. Excellent location and we'll definitely be back. 10/10"

"The hotel is fine for a couple of nights although it could do with updating in many areas (having to walk up outside stairs to reach your room is not ideal). The footfall noise from the upstairs room was terrible on both nights, even with a change of occupants. Needs some sort of sound proofing. The staff member we complained to was great and offered to change our room, but it was after midnight. The electrics blew in our room when we switched something off; again the staff were fantastic....

"Great experience. The building is quaint, cozy, with a unique design and interior decoration. Beautiful dining area and bar. The room (ground floor), was spacious and with a lovely art deco interior. Very nice shower with good water pressure, nice choice of shower gels and other amenities. The plumbing in the toilet was a bit iffy, but nothing too serious. Very comfortable bed, with soft pillows (this is my preference so I was happy with it). "It was our 5th Christmas staying there. Staff are great, rooms are great, location is great. Lovely 10min walk to town for food and shops. Can park mostly easily and only £15 for the day/night. Best tradition of ours at Christmas. "
