"The lodge is beautiful in very peaceful area, it was very clean with everything we needed. We used it mainly for a base as we were traveling so only really slept there. The lodge is situated between 2 other properties and would benefit ( I’m my opinion) with blinds on all lower windows. The bed is very comfortable but a bit on the narrow side. A spring morning in April is an excellent time to visit Dunottar Castle on the north East Coast of Scotland, The daffodils are coming up and spring is in the air. At 5.18am the sun is breaking over the horizon. There is nowhere to gat a coffee and a bacon sandwich unless you drive south to Montrose and the Greggs the bakers opens at 7am. Bring a flask as the breeze of the north sea is bloody freezing in April, The Castle doesn't open until 10am, Built in the 1400's it played a major role in the Jacobite uprisings of the 1715 and 1745.

"Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. All members of staff friendly, welcoming and helpful. Bedroom clean and bed very comfortable. Bathroom and shower very clean with nice toiletries and soft towels. We dined in Blair’s restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and meals were delicious. Great choices and plentiful for both. Had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Great value for money too "

"Room was lovely but the air conditioning didn’t work as the battery was flat. Windows don’t open so room was far too hot and stuffy. Bed and pillows were a little soft for our liking.Hotel was extremely busy as there was a show on in the P&J Arena but not enough staff on to clear tables, serve drinks etc. Big cue at bar. Lift broke down in the morning causing cues for lift. Not enough tables for sitting eating breakfast, either carry your food right through the hotel to the other side or eat food at low tables which are fine for evening drinks but no good for eating food."
