"It's not luxury by any standard but I paid a very low rate for a single room and what I got was good value for money. The room itself was small and the bed cheap and not very comfortable. It was fairly clean but the net curtians had mould and other details. The bath / shower worked but was broken so the shower was half mast. Onsite parking was fine. The bar area was good and the barman excellent. There was a part of rowdy builders and some choice language which didn't bother me but the barman...

"We stayed at the hotel while attending my son’s ice hockey national final. Overall, the experience was just okay. One of the main issues was breakfast. I had a very early start on Sunday, but breakfast did not begin until 8am, which meant we were unable to use the breakfast we had paid for. I asked the staff whether any food could be provided earlier, but was told this was not possible due to allergy concerns. I also asked whether the money we had paid for breakfast could instead be used towards dinner in the hotel restaurant, but this was not offered as an option either. As a result, I am now having to request a refund from Hotels.com for the breakfast we paid for but could not access. We also used the pool during our stay. Unfortunately, it felt like it could benefit from an upgrade and a more thorough clean. While the staff were polite enough, I did not feel they went the extra mile on this occasion. Given the circumstances, especially knowing we had an early start for a national sporting final, a little flexibility or effort would have made a big difference."

"This hotel is very nice and beautifully run . A fantastic team very welcoming and very professional . This was apparent up on arrival and continued thorough out of our stay by all the staff . This is mainly down to a fantastic management .You and your team are a credit to the hotel and the Marriott group. We had a fantastic time staying at courtyard and looking forward to our return in the near future . My wife and I and our daughter and her husband believe that this hotel is by far one of the best hotels in the area . A spacial thanks to Mr Lewis Watson and Robin"

"Very close to Sheffield railway station and easy to find. Check in (& out) was easy and quick. Room was ready well before time stated. The air conditioning was very welcome on a very hot day. Room clean and quiet. I liked that it had a bath but as the shower was over the bath this might be a problem for the less able as climbing into a bath can be difficult."

"Checked in with no issues by Millie, very pleasant young lady. Showed to our room by Mark, very helpful chap. We paid for a Terrace room, very spacious, clean and a lovely view of the fountain and gardens. Bathroom clean, again spacious. Bath and separate shower. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board, tea, coffee, biscuits, all available. Corridor to the rooms a little dated and floor very creaky (not a complaint just an observation). Breakfast the next morning was chargeable extra to the room. Buffet style with Plenty of choice and availability, fruit, cereal, pastries, cooked breakfast, bread for toast. Unfortunately this is where we encountered an issue… tea and coffee needed to be requested - we waited 35 minutes for Tea & Coffee despite asking the staff 4 times, who then served later tables before us. The “supervisor” Thomas had a terrible attitude and rather than accepting that they had made an error, made matters worse with an arrogant, attitude. Such a shame one member of staff can cause a dampener on an otherwise lovely experience. In addition to this, we made the general manager of the hotel aware of the supervisors conceited attitude and she was happy for us not to pay the breakfast. However, 30 minutes after leaving the venue my credit card was charged!"

"The location of this hotel is excellent for everything in the centre of Sheffield, we were attending a wedding at the town hall which is just a few steps away from the from of the hotel The staff were very helpful and friendly The room was spacious and very comfy Very clean. There was water provided and an iron and board, Air con was great as it was a hot weekend Overall a great experience"
