"Nice, homey alternative to the big resorts. Very good location and very close to the restaurants in the area. Breakfast was simple toast and eggs.
We didn't read our booking closely enough and didn't realize there was a shared bathroom, but we are not picky and it was fine and quite clean. Only very minor complaint would be there were only 1 pair of towels provided (and no hand towels) and no bath mat to dry off your feet outside the shower."

"This was my first time reviewing a place I stayed, but Barcelo Maya Riviera truly deserved it.
From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their kindness. Although our room wasnât ready at check-in, they quickly reassigned us to another available room so we could settle in right away.
Every interactionâfrom front desk to servers and bartendersâwas friendly and accommodating. Most restaurants offered four-course meals and happily provided extra dishes for us to sample.
We spent most of our time by the pool near the Music Bar, where the bartenders were efficient and fun, and even tho we know they were on the clock, it look like they were actually enjoying what they were doing, a lot of them engaging on the activities with the guest and giving the impression that they were actually having a good time.
We didnât feel the need to leave the resort thanks to the convenient shuttles and walkways connecting the properties. Maya Riviera stood out for being more relaxed and less crowded than the others.
All in all, the experience exceeded our expectations!

"Fabulous stay! My daughter, son-in-law and 4 grands - ages 9, 12,13, 13 - enjoyed a most wonderful week here. Host Vickie is excellent, full stop. She is quickly responsive and very helpful from any questions we had regarding the home to restaurant suggestions to various experiences we booked through her. Every person Vickie connected us with was lovely. The cenote in the backyard was such a treat and the kids loved it! The home is well equipped and very comfortable. Being in the jungle was truly different and relaxing - the birds were amazing. The location is so nice because the spot is minutes off the main highway and close to everything we wanted to do. I would gladly return!!"

It is a little house in the jungle is the title say, and of course belongs to a property that has a big house and more facilities around.
There is also a tippy on the property and cenotes ⊠itâs beautiful.
I didnât have a car , there is a five minutes walk to the highway where youtake a â collectivoâ that is an air conditioned van that takes you to places along the highway for a small fee. Used mostly by local people.
The same if you want to go to the beach, you take the collectivo.
This is the only inconvenience, itâs not on a walking distance.
The only close by public beaches are at Xpu Ha.
All the other beaches are private with a hotel, etc.
Same for eating out, you need to go to Puerto Aventuras with your collectivo.
This is a nice place with lots of restaurants, parks.
I also booked one day tours to :
1.Chechen Itza, the Mayan pyramids.
2.Swimming with a turtles another day
3.And to Xcaret park and show.
All these trips were spectacular.
The organizer will pick you up from your location, so no problem if you donât have a car.
