"Beach view from room was stunning, but windows desperatley needed cleaning. Lots of tea and coffee which can easily be replenished at reception (staff were much better this time!) ; rooms aren't tidied unless you request it, which I really liked as you're not disturbed. Location is fantastic, over 100 steps down to the beach but there is a public lift for about Ā£1:50 return, or a number 2 bus every hour which drops you outside the hotel from the sea-front. Lots of eating places plus banks/betting shops near by and a very, very good One Stop round the corner. Parking is a nightmare, beware that I saw a traffic warden handing out tickets early Saturday morning. Lift to lower floors (reception is floor 4) really poor/slow/only carries 3 people. Helps burn the calories though - over 80 steps to reception. Bathroom and shower were really good. Overall positives massively outweigh the negatives and love it here; come by train, burn those calories and enjoy the stunning views, beach/superb sea and the heart of Scarborough!
