"Stunningly beautiful home and location! we had to work during our brief stay to take advantage of the many lovely spots around the property to enjoy views and amenities. We enjoyed a game of pool in what has to be the best view from a billiards room ever! The gardens are obviously carefully and abundantly tended. We enjoyed taking walks along local levadas, literally situated within steps of front gate. Perfect place to enjoy and explore the beauty of Madeira"

"The villa is absolutely beautiful and so is the setting. This villa is for you if you want to be in a quiet, more remote setting - a car is a must- but it is only around a 15 minute scenic drive to Calheta where there are shops fantastic restaurants and a beach (with boat tours and water sports). I would recommend a car anyway for a trip to Madeira as it is such a beautiful island and there are so many places to explore within short car journey.I found the owners to be very thoughtful e.g providing wine, milk, charcoal for us so we had enough basics already there when we arrived. They also provided helpful information about places to visit and local supermarkets etc. I also found them to be very friendly and quick to reply in all my communication with them prior and during the holiday. I highly recommend staying in this villa! "

"A wonderful property in a lovely location. We didn’t tire of the views and it was a great spot to see both south and northern parts of the island.The little touches of tea, coffee and milk were appreciated. Calheta has a great supermarket and lots of little restaurants to explore around the area.Communication was fabulous too. Couldn’t fault our stay."

"4 friends came to Madeira to hike. The house was everything we had hoped for, it was just as described. It is beautiful and creates a special feeling. Virginia was very responsive and gave us a packet of amazing information. Check in was easy, and there were explanations for everything. "This was our second time staying at Casa Farol. We spent three weeks here, the last two weeks in February and the first week in March.The house is very comfortable and spacious.We shared the house with our daughter and teenage granddaughter for one of the weeks.The house is situated in a small village on the southwest part of the island. The house has great views of the Farol lighthouse at Ponta do Pargo and cliff oceon views.The location suited us because it was quiet but accessible to many locations on the island.There is some building construction going on in the village but did not cause any concerns for us.The house is approximately one hours drive from Funchal. Within a short drive is a grocery store, several restaurants and a pharmacy.Orlando was very responsive and an excellent host."
