The Lakefront Anchorage

6/10 Okay

"Hidden Resort Fee not informed before booking. Amenities supposedly from the Resort Fee are less straightforward to materialized. eg. $10 credit for meal was reneged because it wasn’t clear if the waitress was supposed to take it and deduct it from bill. In my case she didn’t. When I checked out the Front Desk refused to re-imburse. The Breakfast included voucher for a fee specified for ala cart, but actually it was for buffet. Bellman not around when you needed him to get your stored frozen box."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was big and clean. The shower was absolutely amazing! The location was convenient to the airport. The walls were thin and we could hear lots of people most of the night. The breakfast was just okay, not very stocked or maintained. Overall, we would stay here again if in the area."

"Room was clean, one bed was very saggy, no shampoo or tissues in room, staff was courteous but we had trouble with our heating and was told there was no maintainence or person who could help us for 3 days…..luckily we were finally able to get it going ourselves. Bathroom was large and clean, but terrible water pressure.,sink drained very slow…They neglected to tell us that maid service was every other day so we came home to soggy towels the 1st night….room was reasonably quiet, tv was pretty good. Good location for airport and downtown. No breakfast or coffee, but none was promised…price was cheaper than most other nearby hotels."

"Check-in took forever. The front desk clerk was nice but clearly overwhelmed and understaffed. The room itself was fine. It’s definitely showing its age. The location is great - nearby shops and restaurants. All walkable. Be cautious at night because 3rd and 4th ave can become a little sketchy. The hot tub was not hot the first night and the second night it was hot, but the jets were not working. Which was disappointing since that was an amenity I was looking forward to. Parking was expensive and a block away from the hotel which was a little frustrating and one night they ran out of spots and didn’t do anything to compensate."

"It not a good image when pulling into the gravel parking lot and it’s littered with trash. Lobby carpet, stairwell and hallway carpet was dirty. Staff leaves the laundry room door open all day so you can see a pile of dirty laundry almost reaching the ceiling (not kidding). The room carpet had a dirty feel with dust and crumbs in the edges of the walls. Beds were old and mattresses had a thin feel to them. Bathroom was clean and updated but the shower curtain rod was not anchored to the wall securely which caused the curtains to droop to the center while taking a shower. Overall there was very poor effort in cleanliness and maintenance."
