The Wildbirch Hotel - JDV by Hyatt

10/10 Excellent

"The hotel was wonderful, as was the staff. It was much larger inside than I was anticipating. I did get confused and turned around when parking. I parked in the lot that I guess is the back side, not main entrance? I followed my GPS. But I ended up on the bottom floor and it took a little while to realize I had to go upstairs to the main desk. Everything was brand new. I loved the vibe of the room. The only thing I couldn't stand, that I can't stand in any hotel are stupid sliding barn doors to the bathrooms! Sharing a hotel room without being able to fully shut a door for privacy drives me insane. This one was particularly annoying as it wasn't hung right so it wouldn't stay shut. Restaurant was delicious. Beds were comfortable. I would stay again if alone or the bathroom door situation was fixed :)"

"I had a frustrating experience with this hotel due to disorganization and lack of professionalism. The airport shuttle process was unclear—front desk staff did not explain where to wait. (For reference, it’s across from Arrivals Door 6 at a covered bus stop.) I waited over 45 minutes because they forgot to call the shuttle. Once they did, it arrived in about 15 minutes. At check-in, I was told to wait while both front desk employees spent over 30 minutes on their phones. It felt very unwelcoming and unprofessional. The hallways were chaotic, with housekeeping carts and supplies scattered everywhere and staff yelling to each other. A vending machine didn’t return my change, and there was even a hallway chair missing its cushion. On my last day, housekeeping knocked starting at 8:00 AM—three separate times—asking if I had checked out, even though checkout wasn’t until 11:00 AM. The room itself was clean, spacious, and conveniently close to the airport. The accommodations were fine, but the overall experience was overshadowed by poor service and lack of organization."

"I had to keep calling the hotel from the airport I took almost an hour to get someone to answer, the lady told me she was working alone, but the time I got there all the restaurants were closed. I had to eat a candy bar for dinner. Also no one told me there was a shuttle that could take me downtown. Because I got a day pass on the bus. I didn’t find out about the shuttle until I was checking out and saw the sign at the front desk!"
