Supurb Hotel.

Super hotel, 5 minute walk from the railway station. Check in was quick and the host super friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Very nice buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and excellent coffee. All of the staff we met were super friendly and informative.

Maiden Oval Hotel London

This hotel is a no-frills, reasonably priced accommodation for London. No catering is provided. The lifts in this hotel were not working. The staff were helpful, cheerful and efficient.

It’s a you get what you pay for hotel. The receptionists were amazing and very helpful but the room itself was old, in desperate need of a paint job and updating. The bathroom was new however and that was a very good surprise.

Pleasantly surprised by quality of accommodation - think it better than the star indicator suggests. The exterior of building looks tired and lift doesn’t work, which probably accounts for this. Other than that, the rooms were very up-to-date and clean. Few snags here and there, but great value. Staff were attentive and service-orientated.

You get what you pay for. The hotel and staff were very good. The lift didn’t work and apparently has been out of use for a while. A good nights sleep but the Wi-Fi in my ground floor room was rubbish. I did tell them and they rebooted the router but I could only get service by the door. I will stay there again though.

Good location for the Oval Cricket Ground

Hotel is in a great location for the Oval cricket ground however is in what looks like a old office block. Entering via a concrete stair case, the reception is old and tired looking. The lift was not working and it looked like it had not for some time. Bathroom was modern, clean and well equipped if not a little small. The room itself was a little tired and the bed and pillows were hard and well used and could do with a refresh

Re: The Maiden Oval Hotel- FKA Belgrave Hotel

I chose this hotel over another mostly because it was close to where I needed to be for my purpose. The Maiden Oval Hotel was not the most well kept place, but it had some positive aspects. On the negative side, it was run down. Quite worn and could have used refurbishment. But it was comfortable enough and was kept clean, which I appreciated. The rooms have no refrigerators or microwaves, but there is a kitchen on the lowest floor (one down from the main floor) which had a large refrigerator that guests could use and a microwave. That kitchen in particular could have used some upgrading, but was serviceable. What I most appreciated were the two gentlemen who traded off front desk duties, each taking turns at 12 hour shifts. They were most cordial (sp?), friendly, and helpful. They each helped me on different occasions whenever I needed help, sometimes helping me carry items from the kitchen to my room. I thank you for your excellent service, sirs. Oh, and in the picture of the room, I think it was taken with a wide angle lens. The bed looks smaller than it was. I think it was a queen size bed. And room looks smaller than it was. Overall, it was a pleasant enough stay for me.

Perfect place, good staff and close to the subway & bikes but with 2 tiny problem - Elevator wasn’t working - You can feel the subway passing every few minutes (room trembling) but if you’re not a light sleeper it won’t bother you otherwise i had a good stay !

Basic but handy

Great location for the cricket - very close to the Oval tube station. Not so good is having to have a cold shower - apparently the boiler had broken or the request for a second pillow ignored .
