"The hotel was inviting and pretty clean overall. The floors were a bit dirty as our feet became dirty in the room immediately after showering. The pool was also pretty murky during our only available time to go in it, so we avoided that. The beds are wildly uncomfortable; the stiffest spring bed I have ever slept on. However, we were so tired at the end of each day that it didn’t matter at that point. There was only one functioning elevator and it was tiny. A bit inconvenient since we stayed on the 5th floor. All of the amenities are one the 1st and 2nd floors and loading/unloading the car was a slight hassle waiting for the one small elevator to be available. All of that said, we still had an enjoyable stay. The place had a great presentation. Well-kept on the outside, friendly staff on the inside. The room was spacious. Did what we needed for our stay and the location was perfect since we had traveled back and forth from Salem to Reading, and the hotel was almost an equal distance from both towns."

"The staff was really amazing, went above and beyond for me during my stay when I needed them. The hotel itself is very clean and only a ten minute walk into town. I’d stay here again for sure. You’re right across from a convenience store for snacks and a bar/dispo and a late night munchie spot. Really convenient location! Also they have parking."

"Nice hotel, great location for beach and blue line access. Only complaint is the layout is odd, entrance facing beach enters to the pool level and not the main check-in desk, had to go up a level."

"Nestled in the heart of downtown Salem, the Courier is the perfect place to stay. It’s a charming boutique hotel with lovely rooms and amenities within walking distance of so much of the historic area of Salem has to offer. Its fully stocked kitchen is perfect if you want to dine in, the bed was so comfortable, and the sheets so soft. My only critique would be the check-in process which was a bit complicated taking longer than expected. The delay prevented us from checking in at 4 PM and lead to a very rushed evening given a previously scheduled tour. In short, it’s a wonderful hotel and I really look forward to staying there again on my next visit to Salem."
