The property was meticulously maintained and clean -- the staff worked non-stop to maintain the beauty of the property. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly! The food was very good; the bartenders at the pool worked at a super-fast pace and tried to please everyone. Just a wonderful place and a wonderful staff!

We loved the views and the ocean. One reason we like Riu is for the swim up bars. This particular location the bartenders seemed to be less concerned about serving us due to being engrossed in their own conversations. But it got better later in the day. But for the most part we loved this resort. Food was subpar compared to other riu we’ve stayed at But we will know what to expect if we book at this location again. Very nice rooms and very nice scenery.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. The breakfast was good but the rest of the food was terrible. Worst food we have ever eaten. They have multiple restaurants and most people just ended up leaving after a few minutes. We did love the entertainment and employees at the hotel.

I loved the friendly, smiling, and helpful staff, as well as the delicious food. The room was very clean and well maintained, which made my stay even more comfortable. The main area for improvement would be adding more entertainment and activities throughout the day and evening. I would definitely come back and highly recommend this resort to others. The wonderful staff, great food, and welcoming atmosphere made my stay very enjoyable.

Property was well maintained. There was always staff around cleaning, answering questions, or offering a drink etc.. The entertainment by the pool was great throughout the week and the bar staff were very attentive. Food was good at both lunch and dinner buffets. Only critique would be the general interiors and gym are a bit outdated and could use a bit of a refresh. This is my second stay at the Riu Playacar and I would recommend it.

Amazing stay, the highlight of my experience was RIU Entertainment team. They are amazing! I have to say that the service at the breakfast and lunch times needs a little improvement - everyone is nice but there are not enough servers for the amount of guests.

The room was very clean. We're a family of 4,when we got our room, we were surprised they have added an extra bed in our room, which was very thoughtful of them and very helpful to us. The staff is very friendly and helpful. No surprise in the fees Jo additional hidden fees. The food was great, lots of options every day in the buffet. Variety of options, even some lactose free and gluten free options were available. Everything was labeled for allergen as dietary restrictions. The daily entertainment shows in the evening were beautiful. Definitely recommend RIU Playacar and definitely will stay there again.

I enjoyed this resort a lot. It was the perfect size… not too big, not too small. Was always able to find a pool/beach chair in the morning around 9am after breakfast. Was always able to find seating at any restaurant with no wait time. I was actually quite impressed with the food, especially the sushi at Jade. I enjoyed the entertainment, both day and evening. Staff was super friendly and bartenders were great… special shoutout to Jorge at the swim up bar.
