"The property was nicely furnished and comfortable. Enjoyed the week there. Rated ok mainly because of the pictures of the property. The pictures of the property grounds are very misleading. Clearly labelled, they make it look like it is part of a pub with a walled garden. This is not the case. It's an independent apartment on the main street. I was there a week and never found the pub or walled garden shown in the pictures labelled as property grounds. Photos attached clearly stating property...

"The Murray Arms requires updating and some investment. The decor is as it was when my in-laws were growing up in Gatehouse in the 50s, the menu is also stuck in this time vortex. Our family room was clean and basic. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi and the TV did not work. I have a feeling this is a common problem but no one is willing to spend the money to fix it. We had our evening meal in the 'refurbished' dining area with its damp ceiling and musty smell. The quality of food was poor and overpriced....

"Shame previous owners let the hotel go to disrepair as it was a wonderful place. 100% respect to the new owner who is doing a great, time consuming task (without the help of planning department) to bring this Hotel/Restaurant back to the great place it was."
