Bar is under rooms and music until midnight, but otherwise was great value and nice rooms

Room (single) was basic but clean and fine for my two night stay. Owners and staff were friendly and very helpful. Food was also great and plentiful. Will stay there again if in Castle Douglas.

The room and Inn were perfect! The owner was so kind and helpful. She he's my reservation when my travel plans coming in did not go as planned and I ended up not checking in until the next day. The food was amazing! From breakfast to dinner with the battered fish (so creamy good) and the chicken a leek lasagna (so yummy). I will keep this place in mind for the next time I am traveling g through the area.

We stayed in a family room, which was quite spacious and nice. The host was excellent and helpful about things to do in the area and the hotel restaurant was fabulous!

Quiet little town, hotel was a great location to walk around and explore. It looked like the room had recently been renovated with new carpet and paint. Highly recommend for an overnight stop.

We felt right at home from the moment we met Freda outside her lovely B&B. Our room was clean and cool, bathroom was very nice as well. Big TV and coffee & Tea on our table. The house itself is very charming and historic. The next day we were greeted by a hearty and delicious homemade breakfast by Freda, we even got to meet Gypsy! Her sweet doggie. We loved our short time in Dumfries, I hope we make our way back there again. We will definitely be staying at the Huntigdon once more

Everything went very well except that on our second morning the hot items for breakfast still were not out at 6:40 am so we had to leave without it.

Wonderful place to stay. Host was very friendly and breakfast was delicious. Stayed there to be able to go to Dalscone Farm.

The Hamilton House met all my expectations and more. Will definitely stay again if back in the area and will recommend to anyone who asks

Very lovely place with a fantastic restaurant on the main floor. The proprietors were great. Would stay here again 100%.

The staff were amazingly accommodating. While the rooms could do with refurbishing, the linens were clean, the view to the harbor refreshing. And finally, it’s the first time I think they’ve had to accommodate a Dungeons and Dragons online gaming session after restaurant hours which they did with humor, grace and a bit of rejigging of their cleaning schedule. Thanks so much!

Staff was friendly and helpful.

Elegant old building, helpful and friendly staff, well maintained golf course, a bit more challenging than it may first appear to be ...

One of the best places we stayed on our trip. Excellent location and great views. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond in making our staff very enjoyable
