"I was impressed immediately upon entering our room. It was clean, bright and pretty. We had a family room so the girls had their own twin beds in a shared wall area, complete with nice closet and unique architecture. They slept well. We used the towel warmer and the shower was good, just not the greatest water pressure. The wifi was good. The location was quaint and close enough to downtown Inverness to walk easily. "Run by a lovely family. This hotel is right on the John o’Groats trail (and in the centre of Tain) and provided a very comfortable nights stay after a long days walk. I noticed it also provides /thinks of the details that not all hotels (along the trail) do…. Bottled water, big pack of shortbread, giant tv (not the tiny wee ones you often get on the wall), alarm clock, in shower mat…."

"For an overnight stay it was good. I ended up with the single room #4 that had a view of the poorly maintained back yard. It was fine as I was only there to sleep while traveling the NC500. It was clean and the room was warm on a cold rainy evening. A tip for hot water is that you have to turn the hot water button on that is just outside the bathroom door near the light switch. Great hot water, but don't turn the bottom knob all the way to the right or else it will just get scalding hot and then...

"Our stay was as mostly as expected except for the issue of no hot water till we checked out in the morning. We were told the problem was caused by the Scotland water company so the hotel had no control over the issue. Nevertheless, it was not very pleasant when you cannot shower after a long day of travel."

"The room had the sun beating in the windows so it was quite warm when we arrived. Unfortunately, we got in late and had an early flight out so had to go to bed relatively early. You could hear traffic if the windows were kept open so it was a bit hot all night. The room was very clean and had a great sunset view. "
