"The hotel is located about a 5 minute drive from Main Street. There's plenty to like about the place. First, we had a nice-sized double-queen room with a sizable bathroom. It was clean and comfortable. I used the gym and the pool and they were both fine and not crowded at all during a holiday weekend. We also ate at the on-site restaurant, which was convenient and had a nice terrace. They also have a nice area by Lake Placid with Adirondack chairs, kayaks, paddleboards, and a dock. Two things we did not like though. One, the bathroom has a barn-style door, which never seems to provide privacy. Not a big deal if you don't care about those kinds of things. Secondly, the soundproofing is not great. We had very noisy neighbors upstairs and heard stomping and jumping whenever they were in their rooms. We called the front desk one night about it and tried to switch rooms the following night. They were not able to switch us, but they tried. Overall, it's a nice place, but given all the choices in the area, might consider another place next time."
