"We had a fantastic time at Hotel Splendid, with wonderful views of the sea. Staff were all helpful and professional. It is in a great location, away from the main hassle and bustling tourist crowds, but with easy access to all the sights. Also, on the Expedia website it states there is no lift at this hotel, this is wrong. There are 2 lifts all the way up to the 5th floor! This was very much welcomed as we were staying on tge 4th floor. "

No Ironing facilities - at all? Zero, not even an ironing room? - very strange for a hotel hosting conventions . Pool opening hours could be expanded (even just for adults) 10-6pm is a little short. "Good value for money - the hotel is in a great location for visiting Etna but is slightly too far up the hill to wonder into Zaffarena for dinner. Free and plentiful parking (in October). The room was clean, a decent size and balcony has an amazing view over the town towards the sea. There is a free minibar which is a nice feature, with lemonades and water to drink.
