"The Arena Hotel was a gem! Originally, the building was an orphanage, but it had been very skillfully and artfully refurbished. The modernizations were interwoven with elements of the original building. Each room was different. Our little suite had a circular bedroom with an impossibly high ceiling. There was a very extensive public park right in front of the hotel, with a large pond. It was a wonderful place for a stroll. We loved our stay."

"We were visiting friends and wanted a place near their home. This was a great location so close to the tram that we could either walk to their house and feel like a local at the surrounding shops and cafes or jump on a tram and be in the heart of Amsterdam in 10-15 minutes. We always love staying away from the crowd and this was awesome. The chef prepared Dutch pancakes for me as well even though he was only making American pancakes.
