This was our first night in our UK trip and was arguably the best place we could stay to introduce us to this country. Our room was small but the stone walls and lovely decor made it feel simultaneously rustic and contemporary. The bathroom was well designed and had a wonderful shower that was just what we needed after 15 hours of travel. The bed was a dream, I haven’t slept that well in a long time. The Lion Inn was one of the most charming Inn's I have stayed in. The rooms are charming- you approach yours as if it is your own little cottage. Inside, they are cheerful and bright and have the latest in sleeping accommodations and amenities. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The pub is wonderful, The cuisine is delicious and contemporary, and the servers are lovely and efficient. The Inn is located near the Grade I church of St. Oswalds, -a two-minute walk away. This was one of the BEST properties I could ever have booked for my family!!! What a stunning place and the service and staff made us each feel like royalty every step of the way! LOVED IT!!!!! Will HIGHLY recommend the stay!

The hotel was lovely and the staff courteous and accommodating. Aside from a few, limited spots which showed some age and repair, the accommodations were immaculate. I will certainly stay here again!

The rooms were spacious, charmingly decorated, and clean. The staff could not do enough for us, even postponing a scheduled fire drill because we told the breakfast staff I was planning on taking a jet lag nap before going out to explore the countryside. Meals were absolutely delicious with a great take on traditional favourites. A must stay!

Breakfast was spectacular. They make their own bread! The people were lovely. The check-in process was ridiculously simple and straightforward. The on-site was easy. The room was comfortable and clean. We will definitely stay here again!

Just needs to be better signage directing people where to go to check in. Other than that it was a great experience.

Decor is nice and furnishings luxurious. Fresh milk in the fridge for the Nespresso maker and a bottle of water! Comfy bed and spacious room and large bathroom.
