"Myself and my boyfriend had a lovely stay. The hotel is a short walk from the train station and situated right in the Quayside - literally a stone throw away from all the amazing bars and restaurants. The staff we had the pleasure to speak to were all so kind and helpful, professional and always welcoming. Breakfast was delicious - you could tell the ingredients were of a high quality and the dining area was clean and a lovely, open space to enjoy breakfast. The only tiny little thing I’d mention is the hairdryer in the room was pants. We stayed in a club room and the hairdryer was one of those little ones you have to hold the button on to work. I’d expect a much better hairdryer than that for the room we were in. This is just a tiny improvement I would request and had no impact on our lovely stay. In any case, any hairdryer is better than none!"

"Staff are friendly, pub and grill is good but rooms were really warm at night, and it sounded like an elephant was walking above our room on the second floor. I’d suggest when booking with a child not to put us above the bar terrace, it was loud for a long time. "

"Amazing. Arrived at around 3am from a night flight to be greeted by a warm cookie! The room was immaculately clean, and the bed was like a cloud (pillows and blankets were unreal), staff were all super pleasant, can’t wait to come back. "

"Fabulous Apart from the quality of the surroundings, the opulence of the decor and the delicious food- a hotel is made successful by its staff. The Vermont exceeds all expectations in this area. Staff are welcoming, helpful, easy to chat with and really can’t do enough for their customers. If we’re in the Newcastle area we will always be staying here ( we’ve stayed in a few others but they don’t compare). 11/10 👍"

"The County Hotel is a beautiful hotel right across the street from the train station in Newcastle. The room was very nice, clean, large compared to many, the breakfast was excellent, and we especially appreciated the lift for someone who cannot climb stairs. I highly recommend."
