"The staff here are very helpful and kind. The property does not have a restaurant. The rooms smell of damp as do pillows and mattress. I asked for a blanket and got a bedsheet!! I had to ask for a mosquito net. Over priced for a tired hotel. Near the beach but no views only grotty tin roofs and a huge dirty wall of the hotel next door that blocks out any light. Internet is bad and they have power cuts all the time. Disappointing. "

"There are 3 hotels in the Somerset group. This is away from the beach. Its up a very steep narrow concrete road. Its dark in the night and only 1 vehicle can go up or down this dark narrow road. The hotel staff are really nice. The rooms are a bit dated. The breakfast buffet was a joke as compared to hotels we have stayed in colombo. There was no buffet. Just a plate of fruit and eggs if you asked. Better stay is closer to the beach and somerset has a hotel right on tne beach"

"This is a good hotel situated right on the beach. The room had all the basic essentials. We stayed in a budget room. The walls were full of stains and the mosquito net smelled like it hadn't been washed in months. Budget should not mean the room is not maintained. We stayed 5 nights. "Why House is a wonderful place to stay in Sri Lanka. It's a beautiful oasis of calm - with a very warm welcome from Henrietta and all the staff and a beautiful setting. Our room was fantastic, perfect for our family with its upstairs area for the kids and beautiful mast bedroom and bathroom. The pool is a fantastic place to relax and swim - and when they switch on the lights at night it's truly magical. We had great food and they staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful in helping us with trips to Galle or our airport transfers (even packing us a breakfast for our early departure). Thank you to everyone for a wonderful end of holiday. We hope to see you again soon. "
