"I booked a driving experience for my partner’s birthday back in January and we deliberately waited until summer to make a weekend of it. This review is about the hotel rather than the driving experience. A few things future guests should know: you can’t cast your phone to the TV and there are no streaming services such as Netflix, so maybe bring a Fire Stick. There are no robes or slippers provided. The shower is essentially a wet room, so the floor gets very wet and flip-flops are useful. I’d recommend booking the restaurant in advance as it was fully booked when we arrived, and there are very few delivery options nearby. The biggest issue was the noise. Within the first two hours we complained five times. Reception called the room above us and later spoke to them in person, but the noise only stopped briefly before continuing throughout the evening and the following morning. The only quiet period was between 8:30am and 9:30am, which we used to try and sleep, meaning we missed the breakfast included with our stay. We complained again, requested a late checkout before the 2pm driving experience, and although the late checkout fee was waived, we could only stay until midday. We were so sleep deprived that my partner couldn’t fully enjoy the driving experience. Being offered a complementary late breakfast/ lunch whilst waiting for the drive experience would’ve been appreciated. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay at all and left hungry, tired, and excited to go home."

"Food was excellent. The pool was smaller than expected & understaffed. The rooms were good for the deal we got but very hot as no air conditioning. Staff were excellent & really looked after us, great with our children. Would definitely go back."

"All the staff we came across were fantastic. They were helpful, friendly and would chat to us happily about the area and their personal experiences of Silverstone race days. Lovely breakfast in the morning with a wide range of options and good quality fresh ingredients. Overall a lovely hotel with fabulous staff. We had a double room overlooking the track, we would definitely stay again."

Horwood House Hotel

"The Horwood is in a lovely place ' with good air to breath' but bedroom has no Air conditioning and only provided fan. The only place with air conditioning is the Bar and the drinks are very expensive. It good for winter holidays but not summer for me and wife. If all room has air-conditioning ': then excellent"

"A beautiful building just near Banbury Cross with a large carpark. It was only a short walk to the old town and through the shopping centre to the canal We enjoyed a modern well appointed large room with sofa and Smart TV in the main building. It was unfortunate that because we were in a corner there wasn't a view of the beautiful gardens. The dining room was contemporary and did have that view. The menu had something for everyone and the food was delicious and incredibly well priced. Portions were large and service great. A good buffet breakfast was available for a small extra on booking. Overall an excellent value overnight stay."

"Great stay, rooms are really hot as no air con, fan is provided in room, rooms very modern and clean, staff helpful but when busy could do with more help. Breakfast was good, does take a little while as cook to order. Need to put up abit more signage. Overall a great stay, but you do need a car"

Mercure Bedford Centre Hotel

"Air con in room was faulty A tray had been placed under the unit with a rolled up towel to catch the condensation When we returned to the room later that evening the overwhelming smell of damp made the room inhabitable We were not the only room affected Moved to a lower class of room"
