"I love a good heritage property, even one without a lift. This might be a dealbreaker for acutely afflicted people, but there is a dumbwaiter for moving luggage to upper floors if one is borderline challenged. If I had a choice, I might avoid this location on a Saturday night unless you have SUPER earplugs. Right off a really festive area with pub leavers til 3:30am. Everything else was absolutely lovely."

"Pam was very helpful at check in , explaining everything about the hotel and assisting with dinner reservations. Delightful staff attitude reflected at the well organised breakfast room with a good selection of freshly made items combined with a buffet cooked to order by friendly staff. The 6.00 happy hour with free wine is another bonus and an opportunity for guests to mingle. The underground car park is convenient and has a lift for baggage. "

"The hotel is a uniquely decorated boutique hotel. It was about a 10 minute walk from the tourist info bldg. and a quick walk to the food alley and the waterfront promenade. We were allocated a very spacious suite on ground level in the bdlg. close to the hotel entrance. However, the room had its drawbacks. The TV is located too far from the beds for easy viewing ... we assume the designers assumed people would sit on the sofa to watch . Our room had a locked connecting door to an adjacent room ....

"The room was snug, rather than gererous. The furnishings are much in keeping with the old style of the building. The chef is good. Meals and style appreciated. Central location. Price of accommodation and of cuisine are very acceptable."

"I do not want to stay in a ground floor room with the breakfast area right outside the window so I must keep the curtains closed so people cannot use my room as a stage for me walking around being their entertainment "
