"We arrived with low expectations because of the mixed reviews we had read, but we were pleasantly surprised by our experience at RIU Guanacaste. The property was very well maintained and beautiful. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. The food was good, with plenty of options at the main Liberia buffet restaurant, and we enjoyed the quality and flavors even more at Papagayo. Our room was cleaned every day, and everything worked perfectly throughout our stay. The drinks...

"Staff were very helpful, respectful and welcoming. Doney from customer service was very welcoming and accommodating. They staff made us feel like we were family. Rooms and hotel very clean. Overall I had an amazing time and will return in the future."

"Don’t stay here pictures are not what it is. Rooms was filthy, still had stickers on the wall from the previous person who was in the room, tub was dirty with a dirt ring blue stain on the bed sheets. This place almost ruined our vacation; thanks to villas sol way better place rooms was clean and better view and cheaper. Whatever you do don’t stay here. And we have pictures and videos to prove this place sucks"

"Food and staff were amazing. Only issue we had was with our water heater and maintenance guy not being helpful, they use gas water heaters and the duct for gasses was just a regular dryer duct that was deteriorating and had holes in it letting gasses into the room. I tried to have them fix it a couple of times explaining the dangers with no help. I just turned off the heater during the stay. If we hadn't this experience I would rate the hotel 20/10 but them not being helpful with this...

"JW Marriott is an excellent resort. Beautiful property, extremely helpful staff. Excellent restaurants and a large gym. Beach is beautiful. Golf course conditions were poor."

"It was very good"

"Overall, the staff could use a customer service refresher; we felt that only one or two people were attentive. The room we were assigned has gone far too long without maintenance, furniture that has already reached the end of its useful life. The cleanliness was poor. The surrounding areas are poorly maintained; they need to take urgent action and close for major maintenance. The only thing that lives up to the price is the food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner); the drinks and cocktails are of...
