"Paid what I thought was quite a premium price for two nights stay here. Actually paid an extra £40 to upgrade room and given the quality of the room we got I am glad we did. You know when the owners of a hotel are sweating the asset when you immediately notice the smell of cleaning detergent, cheap bedding, no plastic bags in bins, wafer thin toilet paper. I immediately concluded this must be a hotel owned, ultimately, by Private Equity and BINGO via Warner Holidays the ultimate parent is...

"The hotel offers everything one could need for a short stay. Clean, friendly staff, nice bar area etc however my first experience of my room was disappointing to which the hotel offered me a courtesy breakfast to make amends."

"Proximity to centre of Stratford was excellent. Room was a good size, clean but slightly dated (I think that there is refurbishment work going on at the moment). Really good value for money and added bonus of cheap parking and electric charge points in the car park. Would definitely stay at the Swans Nest again."

"The hotel is very pretty and picturesque. Housekeeping and the rest of the staff were very friendly and polite. Reception was the exception. Nothing major, but when we arrived, staff weren't sure about simple things like parking or whether we could use the business centre, and kept having to check with each other. "The Grovsner requires a paint job especially outside. Unfortunately in our room there was no hairdryer, toilet brush, extra pillows and information regarding the amenities in the hotel or any information regarding things to do in Stratford Upon Avon. I went to the disabled toilets in reception and the floor was quite dirty the next day I went again and it had not been cleaned the same stains were still on the floor. The staff were great but I wouldn't stay again because of the lack of things...

"The hotel is very authentic, with wooden floors through out, steeped in history and very charming. The location is excellent if you do not have a car at your disposal, and the area has lots to see and find to do, will definately be visiting the area , and most probably the hotal again."

"The impression from the lobby/reception was worrying -- tatty carpet, dark, old-looking, and mismatched decor. But the rooms were comfortable and generally clean, though there was a bit of mould in the corner of the shower. The breakfast buffet was good, salmon-avo toast was very nice. The coffee was silly weak though, had to ask for a new pot. We had a pleasant stay but will probably try somewhere else next time."
