"Fantastic hotel right in the middle of Penrith, which is a lovely town. Hotel has parking, which is really useful as it was hard to come by in the town itself when I was there. Special thank you to Petra at reception and the housekeeping team. I had accidentally left a piece of jewellery in my room at checkout. The piece of jewellery in question is very valuable, especially for sentimental reasons. The housekeeping colleague had taken it down to reception for safe keeping, but Petra had gone the extra mile to personally call me to let me know and she had even gone to the post office to post it back to my home address. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your care and grace. This shows the class of the hotel and its staff, and that you are in incredibly safe and caring hands when you are there. Thank you Petra and thank you George Hotel for a lovely stay. "

"Loved the decor & history of the hotel/castle. The free tour after breakfast was an added bonus. The only downside was the awful shower curtain over the bath. "

"This place was so cute and the staff were awesome! Hotel is so full of history! This was very close to Sycamore Gap at Hadrians Wall which is why we chose it. Parking is a bit of a challenge but the lady gave us a great tip on what time to come back and we were able to get a spot right in front! I can’t say enough nice things about the staff! So friendly!
