"Please note that the staff was very nice. However, the pictures online are very deceptive and this resort is currently under construction and not right on the lake. Yes you can walk down to boat ramp. The pictures online do NOT reflect the current situation of what the place looks like. The room was completed and was very nice but I feel duped by the owners and asked for a partial refund as not all amenities were available but did not get a response. Shame, shame for false advertising."

"This place offers an affordable price compared to other hotels in Traverse City. I chose it mainly to have a place to sleep. I used silicone ear plugs to help with noise since the air conditioning unit and traffic can be loud. It has excellent hot water and a small refrigerator, which I really appreciate. There is plenty of parking. I will stay at this place again."

"This is a historic place visited by the likes of Henry Ford, filled with fishing memorabilia on the walls, that is a great choice for a group (or family) who wish to test their skills on the Au Sable or other local trout streams Terry and the other staff were wonderful. The suite I stayed in, one of two with their own bath rooms, was commodious. It's well located on the north branch of the Au Sable, and only about 25 minutes from Grayling. "

"Over all our experience was satisfactory but our check in was disappointing and left a bit of a sour note. The registration clerk insisted on seeing my husband as his name was on the reservation. When I explained he had a disability and it was difficult for him to get in and out of the car a number of times she persisted and finally acquiesced to seeing his driver license with same address as mine. She was far from friendly. Breakfast was great. Room clean and satisfactory but dark and made worse because light on desk was burned out. It was by then late and we didn't report it or ask for help. Would go back but with pre-established guidelines."
