"This place is a very old traditional house. It’s really unique. I couldn’t fault it. Maybe the only thing I would say was it was a little hot in the room. But I guess this is Japanese summer. Our room was on top floor with high ceiling. So it couldn’t be helped. The price is excellent, it’s clean and traditional. What more could you want?"

"With few rooms and a common kitchen (which is very well organized) it's easy to get in contact with other travellers. The rooms are traditional and smells cozy of fresh tatami mats. The guesthouse is located in a nice area with low houses. 20 minutes to walk from the train station."

"This is the second time I have stayed here visiting family. Overall nice property but there was an issue with guests from Mainland China. They were loud, drunk, rude, and made thenstay less enjoyable. This hotel should review it's travel partners and better vet the groups coming in. The area is good but too many Gaijin tourists who are ruining Kyoto with there boorish behavior. I feel sorry for the locals."

"I love the location because you can walk to Teramachi Kyogoku shopping street. I love the clean room and the amenities. The experience was great but I didn't give it a 5 star because I was charged an extra tourist tax fee and I was curious why it was not mentioned online. I paid everything online and I was surprised to get that fee."
