Hitachi Central Research Laboratory was established in 1942 by Namihei Odaira, founder of Hitachi. He gave specific instructions to avoid cutting the trees when building on the 207,000 sqm property. They currently open the gardens to the public twice a year (Apr/Nov).

"I had an enjoyable stay at this hostel in Tokyo! Although I shared the room with 15 other people, it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. Everything was clean and tidy, which made me feel very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The surrounding area is extremely convenient, offering easy access to transportation and numerous nearby facilities. "The staff at the Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo were sooo kind. The entire hotel was clean. Our room had all the amenities we needed. The hotel was located in a quiet and safe area close to multiple train stations. There was a 7 eleven, Starbucks and many local restaurants nearby. I would 10/10 recommend this hotel. "

"Close to train & subway terminals. Very nice room, really superb breakfast, especially if you're willing to venture from traditional western/American fare. Omelets were cooked to order, and reliably good (across 3 days). We were given a room upgrade (size), which was nice, although from lying in bed, our view of the skytree was blocked by wall. Good room service, nice helful staff. Only knock was the mildew under rim of sink, which some bleach could knock out."
