"The best thing about this place is the location. It is surrounded by places to eat and drink, and only a short walk from the Tribunal metro station. With an organic Carrefour just down the road that tells you the sort of area it is. The accommodation for the price and location is good value, it was quiet room, but it's not hotel quality, there is no ongoing maintenance. Hotel Porcel Ganivet

8/10 Good

"The hotel staff were excellent and very responsive and helpful. We had an issue with the room safe where the batteries weren't working. Someone came up right away to rectify the problem but it turns out the battery cover was missing and the batteries were held in place with Scotch tape but the tape wasn't working well. Not very good and the hotel should have noticed this issue when it first occurred prior to our visit and fixed or replaced the safe. The staff member was extremely apologetic and added more tape so at least we could use the safe. The room was fine but felt spartan. They use LED light bulbs that are bright white so it felt like we were in an office setting with fluorescent lighting - not nice. Room was clean and spacious. Hotel decor/hallways/elevators are dated. The local neighborhood has a run-down appearance/feeling but is close to the city center. A taxi stand and hop on/hop off bus stop are close by. Breakfast buffet is average and you can get better food up the street at the bakery. Love the staff but we probably would look for a nicer hotel if we return to Madrid."
