"Perfect location for the beautiful northern lakes and pennines. Yew Tree Cottage is as shown, beautifully furnished, comfortable, as were the beds and bedding, inc great pillows. Welcome pack of tea coffee milk and delicious home made blueberry muffins. The one thing we needed assistance with the owners were very responsive and resolved that same afternoon (on a BH weekend). "Loved the secluded location within walking distance of the southern end of Lake Windmere. The cottage was smart and very clean, and well equipped, but we were stumpted on how to adjust the settings on the upmarket oven (a manual in kitchen drawer would have helped). We found that we had to be vigilant about the step in dark slate floor between bedrooms and kitchen/lounge (we used a bit of white cardboard to visually remind ourselves.) Had a great stay at The Bothy, we highly recommend it "

"The Keswick Country House Hotel is a gem, quietly tucked away with a short walk from the town centre, lovely walks, and beautiful grounds. The hotel was once connected by a railway, which is now part of the C2C bicycle trail, and lovely level walk, through breath taking scenery. The breakfast is great with a great choice of food, well cooked and presented, including Gluten Free options. We had no issues. Maybe a bit more thought about layout, to help avoid cross contamination (eg separation of cereals from non gluten items) and maybe the sausages could be GF? I have found GF sausages are very good, as 100% meat. just a thought. Although I am not a Coeliac myself, my daughter is. I was impressed with some of the the attention to detail, but a bit more choice and slight adjustment with ingredients, positioning and location of certain foods, would be a wow factor, for anyone struggling with an allergy. thank you. The rooms were well equipped, tidy and cleaned regularly. This is an interesting hotel with unique railway heritage. Highly recommended 9/10. The staff were exceptional, very friendly and helpful, I will look forward to our next visit and definitely enjoy this hotel again. Thank you"
