Like many other hotels in London this has not been refurbished for quite a while. It was all very tired. There was no air conditioning and because we didn't come back until late our windows had been shut the entire time meaning the room was absolutely boiling. There were two fans in the wardrobe thank goodness but opening the windows for us would have been a nice touch. It just needs updating but was ok. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And it was nice to have large bath towels.

This hotel was rated 4 stars on Expedia and it was a 2 at best. (We subsequently stayed in another 4 star rated hotel on this same trip to London and it was wonderful.) At the Grange Clarendon we were given a basement bedroom with windows that were frosted over so you couldn’t see out of them. The bed was extremely hard. It was difficult to find your way out of the basement as well snd it took several tries the next morning. The so-called room service amounted to their letting in a delivery person from an outside restaurant to drop off food. We arrived late (10:00pm) having flown from the US and there was no food available anywhere in the neighborhood even though the staff assured us that there were many restaurants and that some were available 24 hours. (Nothing was said about their having “room service “. )We spent an hour looking where they told us to look and all we could find was drinks and no food if the restaurant/pub was even open. Buffet breakfast next day was expensive and the staff person kept hovering until we signed the check even though we were clearly not finished our meal. It would take a lot to get me to ever stay here again or to recommend it to anyone else.
