We loved the location, our room and the really warm staff who are a family business. Everything was great except for a few noise issues which were not the hotel's fault: water pipe road work right outside our window and a horrible, constantly stomping and dropping things guest right above us both nights. The manager did speak to them but the guests couldn't seem to change their stripes. We will ask for a top room next time we visit which will be soon. This is our new go to hotel for London. Hampstead is so sweet!
A gem of a hotel! Location / friendly owner & staff / great coffee / comfortable room ... can't wait to stay again!

Kind, friendly, and efficient staff. Lovely breakfast and room. Perfect location for walking in the Heath, shopping, restaurants. We will
Definitely return to La Gaffe!
Property felt very home like, the entire staff was a delight, very thoughtful and the room was ready before check in time which was great after an 11 hour flight. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend staying here.
Excellent place to stay. Enjoyed staying at La Gaffe. Everyone was so helpful. Very peaceful and quiet place to stay. It was easy to get to and you can walk anywhere.
When I checked in I think the gentleman tried speaking slowly to make me understand easier cause I am a foreigner.
It’s an old historical hotel and I think the founder love poem, I can see from the declaration.
Anyway they provided the best breakfast.
Fantastic little B&B in a beautiful and well connected part of London. A fantastic range of restaurants around the area also added to it. Personal touch and thoughtful enquiry by the staff and owners were the cherry on top.
It is a unique facility located in the beautiful Hampstead hills. There are beautiful walks in the hills and the nearby Hampstead Heath. A short walk to the Hampstead tube station.
Lorenzo and his staff are hand on with great personal care and service.
Lorenzo and his staff are true professionals. They honestly care about giving their customers the best possible experience. The “cold” breakfast is substantial — the croissants are the best we have had!

My room was absolutely tiny. Although this was just a work trip and somewhere to sleep, the room was uncomfortably small. Breakfast was included. Coffee was lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.

We would highly recommend this family owned hotel. Given the difficulties these days with getting staff etc. they did their utmost to provide us with individual things that we needed. A really friendly and efficiently run place in a beautiful area of London.
Many thanks - we'll certainly be booking for next year !

Overall good value for money. A lot of street noise - unavoidable because of location - quite a lot of room noises: thin walls but, luckily, clientele on the quiet, respectful side. Twin room size adequate for one (myself) but would have been beyond cozy for two. Big bonus is location in Hammersmith: interesting neighborhood restaurants & bars, very close to Heath and close to Tube for exploration of London.
I don’t understand why there are so many good reviews, it’s very misleading. Location was good and shower pressure strong, but that’s about it. Bed was terribly uncomfortable. Pillows were old and gross and had other guests hair on them. Walls are so thin I could hear the man in the room next door snoring, coughing, flushing the toilet, etc.
First off, Lorenzo was the quintessential host - knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't hesitate to help us with anything we needed. He truly went above and beyond. As first time travelers to GB, that was probably one of the most important things we could have hoped for.
The room was small but all we needed. The bed was VERY comfortable and it was pretty quiet at night. The shower and bath were clean and a welcome relief after a long day site seeing.
They offered a light breakfast which had a nice mix of offerings, but there were other places nearby if you preferred. Hampstead has a variety of store fronts so anything you want is within a 15 minute walk. It's a bit hilly, but the area is great!
I want to thank Lorenzo and his staff for all that they did! They were first rate hosts!
