I stayed in room 4 with private bathroom. Location is great - just off Upper Street with lots of local restaurants and bars. The accommodation itself is good value for the location (assuming you get a decent rate), though basic in decor / amenities. Overall is value for money and would stay again.

Great stay!

It was a good stay unfortunately was a few small problems like one of the other residents was a bit noisey and there was a couple bits missed to clean but other wise the room was comfy and its in a good area and affordable, i would actuality recomend as the doors are locked with codes so if your alone its pretty secure!

Very convenient location, comfortable and quiet. My only issue was two other guests deciding to partake in, how can I put it in polite terms, extremely intimate activities in the shared living room!! Not the fault of the property I know so it wouldn't put me off staying here again :)

Cheap and cheerful accommodation in great location

For the price and location this guest house was very good. It was a shared bathroom and the bedroom was clean but shabby in some parts. If you’re going in expecting the ritz you’ll be disappointed but I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the room was. Perfect for my needs

I think the first thing to say is that I paid £87 for 1 night which is incredibly cheap for the London and the area. We were going to a wedding from 4pm and would not be using the room/ hotel much. The shared bathroom could do with a good scrub and the loo roll holder was not properly attached to the wall. The soap dispenser tube does not reach down to the soap. The carpet in the room could do with a clean and the room smells somewhat musty. However it has a charming balcony. My feeling is that the place needs a bit of TLC applied to it, and a bit of effort to make it nicer. I didn’t use the kitchen but you could cook a proper meal there if you wanted to. I go back to what I said though which is at just over £80 it is fantastic value. We would stay there again if it was a trip where we were mainly out. It is an incredible location. The staff were helpful and accommodating after a bit of back and forth. I think it is always more difficult when they need set procedures in place given that there does not appear to be staff on site regularly. It was good value for money given the low cost.

Verv Rooms Islington

Verv rooms Islington was a perfect stay for us being at an event at New Meta bar just down the road. Located near many different restaurants and cafes making life very easy. I have given 4 stars as I wasn't told until the day of arrival that I needed to give a £200 deposit, other than that though the place was clean, tidy and well organised, would stay again.

I had just gotten in from an international flight. The property is very close to a lot of nice restaurants and shops. I stayed there for a concert at the O2 and it was very convenient. The walls are thin though and I’m a light sleeper. Staff was friendly and allowed me to check in early for a much needed nap. Everything read clean and the shower has good hot water.

The check in process was online and included seending photo-id and a security deposit - despite it being booked through Expedia and being a long time user of this site. And despite Expedia policy stating not to give payment details to the property. However, without which I would have had to find somewhere else at short notice. The lock mechanism on the front door was temperamental and didnt comply with the instructions until I tried lifting the handle rather than depressing it. I couldnt find the room once Id entered and had to walk through the kitchen, a laundry store and across a yard to find it. The best thing I coud say about the property is that it is reasonably cheap and was conveninet for where I was visiting. A good attempt at cleaning a tired and taudry room. Otherwise dreadful.

One night only !

The lady manning the booking hotline was extremely helpful,allowing me to enter the room earlier than check in at 4pm .I wish these hotels would specify check in times prior to booking! The room was nice but I would NEVER book a room with shared facilities again ! Having to get dressed to use the facilities made me feel very much like I was a stranger in someone’s house ! Very awkward!!

The place is clean and has big hall and kitchen. But it is very noisy area. You can hear everything happening on the streets . You can hear people talking on the street from the room. Also it is common bathroom for all 4 rooms. Expedia never listed like this. Also if the person in the other talks little louder you can hear. I would not recommend this for families or couples who are looking for safety

Check in process was substandard and very stressful - I had to repeatedly submit the same paperwork and chase up apartment access details, which was not provided until the very last minute. Video links for how to access the apartment didn’t work and email contact details for submitting passport info were blank. I was so fed up that I contacted Expedia for refund. The amount of time spent responding to emails and dealing with their processes for a one night stay was ridiculous. No sooner did I check in that emails started arriving asking about my check out time, which I ignored. On a more positive note, apartment in excellent location and of a good size with tasteful furnishings.

Poor experience

Let me first say, unfortunately this was the most disappointing stay that I have had for many years. Whilst the accommodation is fabulously located, the quality of the residence and the customer experience has been extremely disappointing. First of all, the system of providing check in details and PIN is flawed. It took me several hours to get a response and finally get my check-in details. I see from other reviews, some other people have had similar issues. Next, it is not clear (perhaps I needed to look more deeply) that this room is only served by shared bathroom facilities. This is not obvious from your Hotels.com description, and quite honestly in this day and age is not acceptable. Again, I see from other reviews, people also suffered from not being aware from your listing. The room is comfortable. However, the carpet is disgustingly dirty, they need to change it, the whole room is grubby. The other problem is the window above the bedroom door. How do they expect somebody to get a decent nights sleep when the light on the landing is being continually switched on and off. I have been asked for feedback, so I am being 100% honest. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this property and i certainly wouldnt return.

The property in and of itself needs quite a bit of proper remedial repairs and attention to get it to where it should be. That said everything worked the place was clean and as advertised access was easy and the property manager interaction very good.
