"Lovely hotel, great location! Upon arrival I was treated by friendly and professional staff. My room was adequate for my needs my only complaint was the food service was not great. It was extremely slow and I was disappointed with my meal but other than that I had an enjoyable stay."

"The hotel has a long reputation for its high standards and the professional welcome from the staff was in line with that. It is still a fine building, the room was very clean and comfortable, whilst the restaurant and public areas showed the history of its spacious previous art-deco glamour, albeit a little faded. It was a shame that no doubt former dress-code standards cannot be maintained in the 21st century as some of the customers appearance, particularly in the bar / restaurant did not match their surroundings. A pleasure to experience traditional high standards."

"This hotel is in a great location, next to the canal, as well as very close to the city centre. The car park had plenty of space. We had dinner one night which was good, but the breakfast was poor, especially the supermarket toast which was not fresh."

"The room was clean and tidy. The shower was great. Water in the fridge and tea and coffee was a nice extra. There were shower gel and shampoo/conditioner along with hand wash and body lotion. The hotel staff were friendly on check in and the bar staff were friendly. The breakfast was good quality and there was a wide variety in judging fresh fruit. Right next to the station so it was very handy for my travelling."

"This is a wonderful place to stay for the money. You aren’t paying Ritz Carlton or Hilton prices. So don’t expect what they offer. It is a great location, extremely kind and helpful staff and price was great. I rate it 5 stars."
