It’s a beautiful home overlooking Ponta Delgada. There’s a beautiful pool in back and it’s extremely walkable as you are right in the old area all section of the city. Everything is very comfortable.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel. We stayed in a room that was perfect for 4 guests. Very comfortable, friendly staff, and incredible breakfast. It was so nice to have a nice balcony to sit on in the morning with coffee and evening with wine!

Excellent experience, overall. The hotel is gorgeous and the ocean views are unbeatable. The property is very well taken care of and the staff were awesome—very friendly and accommodating. Ribeira Grande is a bit remote from Central Ponta Delgada, but everything is far away around the island anyway. A rental car is a must in São Miguel and having a car will make your experience more enjoyable all around.

Excellent resort with great view, service and gorgeous setting for relaxation.

My fiancé and I have visited Sao Miguel twice before, staying in Ponta Delgado, and decided to venture out of the city center. We were not disappointed with our stay here. We were extremely pleased with the property and accomodations. Well appointed rooms, pool, sauna, steam room, fitness room. Beds were great. Delivered breakfast was customized and outstanding. Staff was great. 5 stars plus!

I have stayed at Grand Hotel Açores Atlântico five times in the last 18 months. The staff is especially friendly and accommodating. Antonio in particular always greets you with a warm smile and an interesting fact about the island. His quick wit is a plus too! I will always stay at the Grand Hotel.

Loved everything about this boutique hotel. Everyone went above and beyond helping us with suggestions of what to do while there. The room was clean and well laid out. The breakfast was delicious with many buffet options plus a few made to order dishes. The vibe is modern but welcoming. The pool area is nice - it was chilly while we were there so we didn’t swim, but it was a calm place to sit and relax after hiking. I stayed here with my boyfriend for one night and it was our favorite stay in Sao Miguel! The staff were kind and accommodating & even helped us celebrate our 3rd year anniversary. I would highly recommend this place! Extremely clean and the pool and pineapple greenhouse were amazing!

Great location and very quiet even though in the heart of things

We arrived and were met by friendly & efficient staff who got us checked in quickly with no wait - even though it was before lunch. We went directly to our beautiful 2 bedroom apartment which provided gorgeous ocean views. A fully outfitted kitchen with any appliances you need to enjoy dining in. A Snack Bar/coffee shop is a couple of blocks away for that morning latte. An Azores walking trail along the ocean is directly across the street! Our family loved staying at Whales Bay...

It was a nice property but a little far from the City Gates, you had to walk past a large construction site and it was a narrow walkway. The breakfast was good however, it never varied - everything was the same each and every day. I felt like the servers only were gracious when they received a tip.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The whole property was lovely. Breakfast was an assortment local cheese, fruit juices and teas. But mostly, the staff! They were the jewels in the crown.

Andre at reception started us off with great hospitality and friendliness and had suggestions for several activities. The room was superb as was the hot springs pool. The hotel had the nicest indoor pool I've seen anywhere. The whole experience was very memorable

Some people may think that the location overlooking the ocean on the north shore is too secluded from the main towns, Ponta Delgada and Ribieros Grande, but we liked the fact that we could easily get there by cab or rental car if needed. This full service resort was an ideal spot to recharge and get away from crowds and noise of the more popular touristy spots.
