"The only issue was at check- in. I was assigned to room 309, but my key card wouldn’t work. The housekeeper took my card to get it reprogrammed at reception. While I was waiting, another young man came to #309 which he was assigned - and his key card worked. I went back to reception and I was reassigned to the correct room. The personnel housekeeping and reception) were very helpful and apologetic. I was grateful the error was resolved without incident. "

"Friendly welcome. Good food, except for the packet washed salad which I cant stand. Managed to get booked in early. Our dog was made welcome also. Lovely light and airy room. Would have liked some privacy film or net curtains as felt a bit goldfish bowl- like without the curtains being closed. The TV power light was intrusive at night, kept flashing on and off and the blackout curtains didn't meet. The room décor, curtain rails (rusty), mattress. bedstead (rusty, screwed to the wall) and bathroom fittings (chipped enamel, leaky shower over bath) needed TLC, but we understood it was gradually being refurbished and it was very clean and fully functional. Gradual refurbishment was clearly underway which was understandable given the challenges hospitality is facing and it's being a new venture for the current owners. We found it very relaxed and informal, like staying at a friend's home, which suited us and our dog just fine. Would definitely recommend for couples travelling with a dog. Really nice village pub atmosphere and the Ukulele orchestral entertainment and chance to have a sing was much enjoyed :-) "

"Great one night stay on the way to Southampton prior to a cruise. This Place has the Wow factor in spades. The main building houses a comfortable bar and delightful multi roomed restaurant in an elegant 18th centuary manor house painstakinly moved brick by brick to it's current location."

"They say first impressions count and they so do. The receptionist Katie was welcoming, happy, professional and very helpful with all my questions. The dining room and bar staff all good. The cleaners never get mentioned so here goes, the standard of cleaning throughout the hotel is excellent they must work extremely hard. It is a must visit "

"We arrived in Southampton not expecting to stay the night but, after realising we did, walked around hostels but all were no vacancy. This hotel was available and affordable for a last minute decision. Furthermore, we arrived at the hotel 10 minutes after booking online and, a very friendly receptionist greeted us, we had a quick joke and he gave us our room keys right away. The set up of the room was perfect for us, a double bed with a single bunk bed on top, all with personal lights. The hotel is said to offer toasties 24/7 however I didn't explore this. The rooms are nice with eco-friendly products as stated and, when we were a bit late for checkout and our room key stop working, the Maid staff there were very kind and understanding, quickly letting us in to double check we had all of our items. Absolutely a happy little hotel close to all amenities, I'd stay again!"
