"The service was excellent, the room was spotless, the beds were comfortable and both breakfasts were delicious. At one point, we called for a taxi but it was running late. Someone from the front desk came down to the road to help us hail a different taxi to help us catch our train. I highly recommend and plan on staying here my next time in Kyoto. "

"This is a traditional ryokan, and my second stay. First time was back in 2016 by myself. This time came here to stay with my wife. Bery friendly staff. I had a much better experience first time around, two ladies came and showed me how to change into a yukata and prepared my bed. Everything was more personal, this time they were a little busy. Too many guests. Still amazing experience. You can reserve the onsen for yourself privately. The dinner experience is a little expensive but worth it. "

The one with the huge lava rocks, natural greenery and small waterfall on the 5th floor was my favorite. "Very clean motel with all necessities (even washing machine); Room was decent size for 4 people, though you can probably open two large suitcases at once; 15 min walk to Shinbashi, very convenient!"
