"Property is a slight walk from Gora station , make sure you are prepared for rain if you are walking to the property. Overall experience with the place and staff was pretty positive, the only slight issue I have was that there was only 1 coin laundry machine , so you need to be strategic about washing of clothes "

"The accommodations were wonderful, beautiful property and onsens. We loved being able to reserve the private tubs, found them very relaxing and beautiful. Meals were wonderful and staff very helpful. If the hill up to the property is a problem, we found taking a taxi or uber very easy and cheap. Highly recommend!"

"This was a uniquely and wonderful Japanese experience. The staff went above and beyond to look after us. The food and service was phenomenal. The location was amazing. Although this is little more expensive it was well worth it as this has been the highlight of our trip to Japan and we will remember this long after we have returned home."

"This is a hotel that has some of the qualities you would get at a proper ryokan. Japanese style rooms and architecture. Private baths on balcony was really nice. Both private and public onsens are available. Sauna, massages. They also have a restaurant and you can get a traditional kaiseki meal. The only thing I didn’t like was the staff encouraged us not to come saying they don’t serve vegetarian food and that’s it’s not available in Hakone. Hakone is not that small and there are probably more than a dozen places with veggie food. We had a great veggie curry walking distance from the hotel and many other meals. I wouldn’t keep that from making this your holiday destination. Hakone and this property are wonderful. "

"Beautiful resort with great hospitality and amenities. The only critique I have is that, especially for this price, I feel like all guests who request the shuttle service to/from the train station should be offered it. It was very difficult for my husband, baby and I to get to the hotel without it (especially because no taxis/ubers were available) and when we wanted to go to use the shuttle on the way back to the train station, they said it was fully booked. They ended up eventually being able to accommodate us, for which we were incredibly grateful, but there was a lot of extra stress and pleading with the front desk to be able to get that confirmation. This was the only tarnish on an otherwise wonderful, relaxing stay. "

Lovely people that run this place , every one of them Amazing grounds and facilities, focused on relaxation and access to hot water from the springs The food is not very western friendly, but you’re in Japan One annoying thing is they were painting the deck while we were there, but I guess they gotta do it sometime"
