"Didn’t really feel like a spa hotel. Yes they have hot baths, but most people from the uk won’t want to go in naked. We used the bath on the balcony which was nice. Apparently there are massage chairs in the spa area. "

"This is a hotel that has some of the qualities you would get at a proper ryokan. Japanese style rooms and architecture. Private baths on balcony was really nice. Both private and public onsens are available. Sauna, massages. They also have a restaurant and you can get a traditional kaiseki meal. The only thing I didn’t like was the staff encouraged us not to come saying they don’t serve vegetarian food and that’s it’s not available in Hakone. Hakone is not that small and there are probably more than a dozen places with veggie food. We had a great veggie curry walking distance from the hotel and many other meals. I wouldn’t keep that from making this your holiday destination. Hakone and this property are wonderful. "

"Beautiful resort with great hospitality and amenities. The only critique I have is that, especially for this price, I feel like all guests who request the shuttle service to/from the train station should be offered it. It was very difficult for my husband, baby and I to get to the hotel without it (especially because no taxis/ubers were available) and when we wanted to go to use the shuttle on the way back to the train station, they said it was fully booked. They ended up eventually being able to accommodate us, for which we were incredibly grateful, but there was a lot of extra stress and pleading with the front desk to be able to get that confirmation. This was the only tarnish on an otherwise wonderful, relaxing stay. "

"Nice hotel with comfy rooms. Good breakfast. Dinner is expensive if not included in the room rate and there are limited options in the town. Communal area with snack and drinks was a pleasant surprise. "

"Frontdesk staff was super nice and accommodating. English wasn't an issue, the clerk used a translator. We had an amazing room. Heads up, we got the premium room and it didn't have a shower. So utilize the public bath or schedule a private bath hour. Quick walk to food and the combini. Very relaxing and refreshing, right next to yunessun and a beautiful walk."
