The title says it all- this was a lovely hotel, and we enjoyed everything about our stay. The location was perfect, the room was very comfortable, breakfast was lovely, etc. the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, as well. We will certainly return on or next trip to Volterra!

A beautiful, relaxing property with incredibly kind and professional staff. Villa Lena has a character of its own that feels truly personal. We loved the design of the rooms and the touches of art throughout. The food was delicious and you could tell care was taken with its making. And again all of the staff was incredibly friendly and it was easy to get help when needed. We traveled here with two children and greatly appreciated all the support from the staff. Highly recommend Villa Lena.

Such a beautiful location and Alfred the owner/manager could not have been more helpful. We loved our stay and wish we could’ve heard him play some jazz. Food was top notch!!! Views to die for!!! Hits all the senses!!!! Breakfast and cappuccinos where wonderful also.

This was a perfect retreat after a hectic week! I wish I had the time to stay longer, hope to return someday :) Great location right off the square. Cute and very clean room. Felt very safe at the hotel and in the city as a whole. The front desk gal was extremely friendly and helpful. If you are out and about late at night, be sure to bring both keys with you!

The people were so friendly and accommodating! The breakfast, the wine, and the cooking class were spectacular! We felt treated like family!

I will start by saying that we will be back to Villa Nencini next year, and for a full week's stay. Does that tell you something? The location is perfect for the walking trips; the owners/managers are on site; the grandfather is the chef, taking time to hunt the boar and deer for the larder! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, with marvelous views over the ancient Etruscan walls, down the Cessine valley to the Tyreenean Sea. Great boutique hotel in the middle of Tuscany. Wonderful views. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We really loved the complimentary wine tasting at their nearby winery! We only wish their rooftop deck would’ve been open for even better views. The hotel and winery are family owned and it’s very clear that they value every guest!

Villa Porto All'Arco is an old villa that's been converted to a small hotel. Don't come if you're looking for modern amenities. This is more of a trip back in time. You get tall ceilings and original floors from hundreds of years ago. The owners are incredibly nice and helpful. And they serve a great breakfast. Two minor demerits. First, the address didn't show up on our GPS so it was a little difficult to find. Second, it's a five minute walk from the hotel to the main piazza of Volterra. So...

We stayed here as part of our tour through Tuscany. Although we wanted to visit San Gimignano, we knew that it would be packed with tourists and bus tours, so we wanted to find a place close enough to visit the town, but away from the hectic crowds. Agriturismo Il Casolare di Bucciano perfectly suited those needs; we had a lovely view of San Gimignano from the grounds.
