"Staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The building is full of history. Comfortable bed, lovely shower. Food was really good, both evening and breakfast. Penrith is a lovely town for a mooch and nice to see independant shops. "

"I was given a very warm welcome and offered a homemade cookie ( very delicious). I stayed in.room.8 a single small but more than adequate, everything was provided and the room and bathroom.were spotlessly clean. The hotel requires that you pre-order breakfast for delivery at a chosen time slot, the next morning it arrived bang on time and was lovely and hot with everything you could expect. Thanks for a great stay"

"A really beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location with extremely friendly staff members. The room was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom is perhaps a little dated now and the shower quite a squeeze (even for a size 12 woman) but having a bath was much appreciated. Our evening meal was good, though not exceptional but nothing to complain about. We were disappointed that the answer to our question as to whether we could have porridge without salt was a very firm 'no' but it was a nice change to have breakfast served to the table instead of the 'free for all' that is the more common breakfast buffet bar nowadays. All in all highly recommended. "

"This was our 4th visit to Pooley Bridge. It has parking and free WiFi. The menu is varied and well priced. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are pretty, functional and the beds are comfortable. The towels are huge and fluffy. "

"Great stay at the green dragon inn. Its a really old pub so if you are into modern, this will not suit you. The staff are brilliant. Food was good. The room was fantastic, better than we expected. Crisp white linens on the bed, fab pillows and duvet. Great nights sleep. I would definitely recommend this place."

"This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The room was wonderful - comfortable and clean, with nice extra touches. The bed was so comfortable it was difficult to get up in the morning! The restaurant was wonderful - excellent food and service. Breakfast was also excellent. Will definitely book again next time we are in the area."

"Second visit as a stopover on the way to Scotland. Very convenient for the M6 north. Staff friendly and facilities excellent. Check-in easy Dinner delicious. "
