"Our room was very clean, the staff were excellent and the food was very good. We thought the cost of room and breakfast was a bit pricey. Some refurbishment is needed, the easy chair in our room was very uncomfortable and threadbare."

"We had a lovely stay at the Old Schoolhouse. Our room and bathroom were spacious. Our hosts had homemade treats for us each day (an oatmeal raisin cookie our first day and a piece of spice cake the next). Our breakfast was at a large table with the other guests. We loved talking to them, several of whom were walking the length of Hadrian's wall. The breakfast itself was delicious and generous. We would absolutely stay here again."
