"We had a studio apartment - it was for one night only pre cruise - wish it had been longer. A very comfortable room With amenities. We also had the most delicious meal in the restaurant and if you are a hotel guest then you get 15% off the bill. There was water in the fridge and tea coffee on offer. Will deffo stay here again pre cruise!"

"Amazing place to stay! Will definitely be booking again when I come back to Hampshire"

"Staff Heather was lovely. Thanks"

"A very pleasant state and excellent breakfasts"

"The rooms are a good size there a multiple bathrooms ans toilets which is good 1 could do with a bit of work but overall there was a microwave in kitchen to warm your food and place was also lovely and warm and a sink in room was good. Nice location aswell near the shops especially if you want a takeaway and a big supermarket nearby also the transport networks are really good or go on foot 40 minutes walking but quite a nice town also has lots of history"

"Just not worth the money by a long way. Very low budget standard for a mid-price."

"Would be good to have a microwave or cooker "

"So easy to book and staff communication was excellent. Would highly recommend. Free laundry facilities and kitchen a great bonus."

"Great hotel in a great location, well priced and nice breakfast in the morning would stay again bargain for the price"

"Building site, semi naked men drinking and lighting bonfires in the car park, litter everywhere! After waiting nearly 2hrs in 30° heat to get in our room, we booked elsewhere"

"This is a great little place - central, spotlessly clean and so helpful/accommodating. Perfect for a pre-cruise stay in Southampton"

"Helpful and friendly couple. Great location."

"Dirty, changed my room, someone else in my room when I arrived so not safe to leave any belongings in room as someone else was in the building and had access. Didn’t send entry codes to one room. No toilet or shower so had to use a communal toilet which didn’t have any toilet paper. Cheap for a reason. Clearly are not cleaning the rooms. Wouldn’t risk sleeping under the sheets so slept on top of the quilt "

"Room was tidy and clean, one issue was the loud shouting in the corridor of the room service lady one of the mornings. Shower was not powerful but adequate. Nice lounge and dining area. Overall a nice stay"

"A decent bed for the night, with on suite toilet (no toilet paper though). Decent shared kitchen to use if required, and a quite area at night. Overall, I'll book with Darwin Guest house again."

"Really nice house, table football etc for the kids, nice back garden and well-equipped kitchen. Really happy"

"A nice room and good location for public transport into Southampton by Train or Bus. Convenient Co-Op and choice of take away food shops. I felt that some small changes would have raised my score, including: Toilet Seat properly fixed. Sufficient crockery and cutlery for 2 people, including glasses, desert spoons (there were none) dinner plates. TV (there is an aerial socket) Toaster Small changes, make a big difference."

"I couldn't get in to the property. I arrived at around 7pm and put the code into the door lock and turned the handle only to find that the door was also locked with another lock I phoned the contact number on the booking confirmation only to find it was an office and nobody was there, so I left a message, I never had a reply. I rang Hotels.com, who were very helpful. But they were unable to get me a refund. I had not read the reviews for the place, but I sugest that if you want to make booking...

"Characterful property, beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful staff, excellent breakfast and evening meal."
