Spillway Lodges

"Spillway Lodges was a great midweek buy for us! We did one of the studio queen rooms and it looked just like the pictures on the website. Room was clean and ready for our 3 day stay in Bellaire MI. Room had a full kitchen with all necessities which was great for my wife and I as an alternative to eating out. There was a little grocery store right down the road that had all the food that we are used to eating at home. We took advantage of the provided entertainment areas on the property. Used the putting green daily, played bag toss, walked the old railroad bridge & trail that cuts through the property. We had 3 deer visit the back of our building minutes after checking in so we thought that was good sign for our mini vacation. Only drawback for us... there was no parking for a truck and trailer/boat combo. We were told the boat would have to be left a few blocks away in a community lot which was not something we wanted to do. Overall, very impressed at the midweek summer price we paid for the overall quality of this property. We will definitely go back at some point!"

"We had a really nice time at the property! First time to us in a beautiful area very close to Torch lake and other places. The condo was as described and had all the basics covered. For our family of 4 the space felt a bit tight with no dining table. Overall great experience and would recommend it!"
The Lodge at Cedar River, Shanty Creek Resort

"Facilities were as advertised and expected. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were put in a room facing the pool and asked if there was a room available across the hall facing the golf course. It was late when we checked in and unfortunately there were no rooms which were clean. However, the next morning, Cindy at the front desk had housekeeping clean a room for us right across the hall. Thank you for all your help, Cindy! The BIG negative of the room was the internet service, or lack of. Yes, you do have internet service. However, what is provided at no charge is so slow, it was basically useless. When trying to open emails, I thought I was back in the early days of AOL, using a modem. I eventually just gave up trying to read my emails and resorted to just using my phone to read any emails that required my attention. You could purchase faster internet for $8/day. However, I refused, out of principal, to pay an additional fee for "working" internet when internet service is advertised as being provided. Shanty Creek should be ashamed of themselves, and I will never stay at this unless this facility again unless the internet situation is resolved. I do not know what the internet situation is at the other Shanty Creek properties."

Here's a polished version that flows a bit more naturally while preserving your enthusiasm: There simply aren't enough stars to describe how wonderful our stay at this cottage was. The owners are attentive, kind, and an absolute joy—they truly make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.The cottage itself is warm, cozy, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything you could need. We ventured into Elk Rapids to visit friends and explored both Eastport and Glacier Hills Pathway, but honestly, we loved this home and property so much that we happily spent the rest of our time right there.The grounds are pristine. We built sandcastles, played soccer on the side lawn, enjoyed two evenings around the fire making s'mores, and fell asleep beneath a sky full of stars. The water is crystal clear and remains shallow well past the swim platform, making it perfect for families. The children loved using the paddleboards and rafts that were provided, but they were most captivated by the incredible clarity of the water as they searched for shells and colorful stones. We spent most of every day swimming and making memories.This is truly a special place—a little slice of paradise. We hope your family enjoys it as much as ours did. We certainly can't wait to return!"

"What a wonderful cabin in the woods. It was super clean and decorated so well. We brought our 21 foot boat and appreciated the circle drive in front to park it. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals and, Kristi, the host was very nice and easy to communicate with. We will definitely book this place again!"
