"Great location at the heart of Carlisle and close to cathedral and castle, perfect for sightseeing. Lovely to stay in a historic hotel that’s beautifully maintained and looked after. Gorgeous high ceilings, stained glass, marble and wood panelling, so much better than modern hotels where everything is plastic. Perfect for a weekend break."

The truth is that every feature you would want to be top quality in an outstanding hotel was exactly that during our stay! Friendly, helpful and polite staff made for a relaxing stay.
