The location was perfect, so walkable and so much around! Overall, the hotel didn’t necessarily impress us. We were unaware at the time of booking that our room was in “The Annex”, located around the corner from the main hotel building. This Annex is not identified as Mimi’s hotel, it is a random teal coloured door next to a bar. There is no elevator in the Annex, with rooms on all 4 levels.. so be prepared for lots of stairs.
Our original room upon check in was not what we thought we had booked according to the photos. The bathroom was very very small, incredibly hot and had a terrible smell to it. We alerted the front desk and they sent someone up to spray air freshener, this accomplished nothing. There was no window in this room, rather an incredibly small “balcony” entirely enclosed by surrounding walls of buildings. The “balcony” was home to many pigeons, so we could not leave the door open to allow for fresh air. This room was very dark, very small with no room for our suitcases. We later asked to be moved to a different room, which ended up being on the top floor of the Annex. The room was a bit bigger, with a small couch to provide a different sitting area than the bed. The bathroom was very spacious. However, on our first night in this new room, we were greeted by a large cockroach on our bathroom counter. When we alerted the hotel the following day, they did not seem surprised. They offered to deep clean our room..
Overall, good location, just an ok hotel.
