The beach is nice and only 5 minutes to get there going past the Shanklin Chine. There are also a couple of good restaurents down by the beach and lots of shops and takeaways in town which is only 3 minutes from the hotel.

Shanklin is a quaint little village, it still needs further regeneration with some shops & businesses closed but it's a nice family friendly destination with plenty to do.

We were very surprised by Shanklin and it's heritage. It was a nice surprise.
"Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff couldn't do enough to make our stay excellent. That hotel has a lot of history and may appear dated. But the rooms have everything you need. I would use this hotel next time I Stay in IOW. "
"We stayed as we were going to portsmouth dockside. I did originally think it was closer to more things but thats my own fault for not checking. Easy to access though from the roads so just nipped in the car the next day. We stayed 1 night, had a drink in the bar. Didnt eat so cant comment on food. Very clean and staff friendly."
